bazi kanani, abc news, washington. president barack obama will be proposing new legislation to help more americans to save for retirement. administration officials think the plan will give 30 million additional americans access to retirement savings. the president's ideas will be outlined in the 2017 budget which he will submit to congress next month. among his ideas: offering tax credits to small businesses which enroll employees in retirement plans; requiring companies to offer plans to part-time workers; and making it easier for companies to bring down expenses by participating in multiple employer plans. the plan would also allow americans to defer taxes on retirement savings. a settlement was made today in a lawsuit between the truckee- meadows fire protection district and the reno fire department. it's a step forward for the two agencies to work together. "aye. any opposed. the motion carries unanimously." under the agreement,

meadows will drop the financial claims against each other. truckee-meadows still has to pay a little over 38-thousand-dollars in unpaid worker's compensation. the reno city council still has to approve the settlement. it will review and possibly approve the agreement tomorrow. the deadline for health insurance is quickly approaching. and the penalty for not having coverage is high. but we have some tips to help you get the insurance you need before it's too late. plus-- "they say we're going to see small outbreaks due to people coming back from countries who are infected. you have five days until the deadline. we talked to one insurance broker in town who says those who wait until the last minute are typically the same people who wait until the last day to pay taxes. alex sampson with health benefits associates says after three years, with the use of the federal site, the process has become pretty painless. he says most of his clients are signing up subsidized plan. he suggests even if you want to keep your same plan, its best to come in anyway. alex sampson, health benefits associates: "with this new application, with the new way of doing things, i would always recommend, reviewing the income. because from year to year, everybody's, i think, most people's income does change from year to year. so at that very least, just browsing through the application, make

the homeless to the reno events center for a free dinner. anyone in need of a hot meal can attend the 'feed the hungry feast'. it's happening from five last year the event than 17-hundred people. more than a hundred businesses came together today to help low-income families and community. a number of free services were offered at the reno events center, including housing assistance and job resources. it's all part of the annual "project homeless connect" hosted by catholic charities of northern this is the eighth year catholic charities collected clothes from the community to give away as well. organizers say their goal is to get people the help they need on the spot. "we're actually getting people linked to services the day of the event, instead of just giving them referrals. i think that's important as well." this year marked the biggest turnout for participating businesses and organizations. it's estimated that more than a thousand men, women and children

closed again; and hundreds of flights remain grounded. elizabeth hur is in new york with the latest. in baltimore overnight.. unplowed streets made it impossible for fire trucks to reach this house going up in flames.. forcing crews to drag equipment down the street.. in new york.. this plow truck was no match for the near-record snowfall.. reaching its breaking point.. just two days after the blizzard blasted the east coast. the nation's capital.. still partially paralyzed.. with growing frustration in the surrounding suburbs.. homeowners upset their streets haven't been cleared since friday. blizzard and advertised it as a "boutique winter igloo for two" on air-b- n-b. inside is blankets and even some candles to set the mood. the three friends started by doing some research on youtube. six-to-eight hours later their igloo was complete. next, they listed it on air-b-n-b. they priced a night in the giant ice cave at 200-dollars. "this is new york people have done crazier things with their money so we didn't think $200 to stay in a giant ice cave was not an out of the question thing" the offers started coming in, but then air- b-n-b stepped in... taking the posting down. for a person under the age of 25 renting a car can be an expensive process. the university of nevada understands this dilemma and has partnered with a ridesharing company called zipcar. zipcar rents by the hour, day or week and nevada students only have to be 18 with a valid driver's license. the university hopes the partnership encourages its
